Office cyborg Alex

How does a real office manager look?

Russian rock music fans will immediately remember a famous song from the “Leningrad” music band – about the very same (about manager from “Dlya Millionov” album).

But it is only one side of truth.

Clever, tough, cunning, pitiless… it is impossible to find out what he is thinking about even after 3 bottles of whiskey.

Ladies and gentlemen, office cyborg Alex is to your attention.

I found the bean in the cake, ’cause I worked in the same company with this amazing girl.
Such a beauty spends days near a monitor. What a shame!
I decided to take photos while I could. So, this photo session is made in style of 30’s.

Hidropark avenue

Hidropark (or water recreation park) is an island, situated on the Dnieper River and connected with the center of Kiev with a rather dangerous bridge.

During summers there are a plenty of half-naked people with bottles of beer - these are chavs, and what about scents of burnt meat wafting abroad – these are shashlyki (specially prepared meat, like grill).

In autumn and winter these landscapes are perfect for Hollywood horror movies.

The place is deserted. All the entertainment institutions are closed and even unkempt.

BUT, if to move deeper into spinney, you can meet a madman, even a couple of them and BTW regardless of the season.

Enjoy Bunin dark avenues on this b&w shot.

BTW Bunin it the first Russian writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Hatch

It was calm and warm summer evening, I and my friend were walking the Kharkov streets, suddenly it started raining. Cobbles on the pavement were wet and they glistened, reflecting in headlights of cars. Everything stopped, there was something in the air and the atmosphere was electrified to a maximum.

Wondrous beauty. No doubts, not everything can be conveyed through a photo.

At that time I was not lazy and carried 2 film cameras with me.

The result exceeded all my expectations.

Nadya

Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence or in words of one syllable it means very often we are so blind to notice that something we are looking for is so close.

I and Nadya studied at the same Academy. She is a very beautiful girl with malign character – a classic of the genre.

The first film with Nadya was stolen and I even can guess who it was. BTW, it was a middle format.

These all happened before one agent met her and took her in his model agency and even before she had started stepping out on the best catwalks together with top-models in Tokyo.

Shots are made in the grotesque style.

Nadya

The shot with a question mark is addressed to both people and inside. I don’t feel like telling about it, I think it’s much more interesting when people make their own judgments while looking at it.

Nadya

The second one, is a continuation, it is about unspoken.

Frankly speaking, printed photos go a long way.

It goes without saying, Nadya has strong dramatic talent.

Sharovka village

The Kharkov region is a place of great contrasts.

Everything is not as it should be.

Either famous architects come from Nice to a small village Natalevka, а local church philter their hearts and afterwards they built the exact replica of it at home, or unique horse stables from the tsar times are discovered out of the blue. And then it turns out, that soil under these horse stables was not soil but a lead land. Sounds like hogwash? Actually, it’s not. This technique helped to form horses limbs.

Sharovka village

Finally, the Sharovka village is a place with the unique architectural complex. Castles, greenhouses, interior gardens, stone bridges across numerous rivers, and arbors with cast iron fanciful patterns… now everything is deserted and forgotten. The best Silver Age poets (Russian Poetry) fancied spending long summer days there.

Sharovka village

And with the advent of 90’s the main building was transformed into a special tuberculosis dispensary, patients still live there. That’s why, during a photo session, all these bring melancholy and some kind of paranoia. Lord forbid! They will cough.

Summer. Sun. Julia.
Swimming-pool, water drops on her silk skin
I failed to pass by her coolly
Thanks God, Canon was with me
No staging, simply our running commentary.
